Browsing the site
Simply reading an article requires no account. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) for a short period, for security and service operation. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
One cookie stores your chosen language, another your cookie choice. Both are necessary for the site to work and are used for nothing else.
Newsletter
Signing up takes two steps: you enter your address, then confirm by clicking the link you receive. Without that confirmation, no message is sent and the address is deleted. Legal basis: your consent.
We keep your address, the language chosen, the date and source of the sign-up, and whether a message was opened or a link clicked — this measurement is used solely to stop writing to people who no longer read us. Every message contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
Delivery is handled by Resend (United States), which processes addresses on our behalf under a data-processing agreement.
Retention periods
- Technical logs: a few weeks.
- Cookie choice: 6 months.
- Newsletter subscribers: until unsubscription, after which tracking data is deleted; an unconfirmed address is removed automatically.
Your rights
You have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Write to contact@topnewsdigest.com. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your national data protection authority.
